Dwalin is a Dwarf character from J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium. He first appears in *The Hobbit* as one of the thirteen dwarves who accompany Bilbo Baggins on his quest to reclaim the treasure of Erebor from the dragon Smaug.
Dwalin, son of Fundin and brother of Balin, is a strong and loyal warrior. He is depicted as being closely related to Thorin Oakenshield. Known for his distinctive blue beard and love of battle, Dwalin readily supports Thorin's claim to the throne beneath the Lonely Mountain.
